Bodrumi i Vjetër

Bodrumi i Vjetër (“the Old Cellar”) is one of Rahovec’s best-known wineries. According to its website it was founded in 1953 as a publicly owned enterprise; after privatisation in 2006 it continued as “Bodrumi i Vjetër” SH.P.K., rebuilt with equipment imported from Germany, Italy and France. It is owned by the Haxhijaha family (NTP Haxhijaha).

Capacity is up to 6.5 million litres of wine a year. It makes reds such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Pinot Noir and Vranac, whites such as Chardonnay, Rhine Riesling and Italian Riesling, and spirits (Rakia e Kosovës, Darda, Darda Extra). Some of the reds are aged in 225-litre oak barrels (barriques). In October 2026 the winery announced two gold medals at the “Wine & Stories of Berat 2026” festival (Riesling Italian and Elephant Chardonnay).

The winery offers “wine tourism”: a cellar visit, wine tasting and a walk through the vineyards, booked through its website or on +383 (0) 29 276 215 and +383 (0) 29 277 345. Opening hours: Monday to Saturday 08:00–15:00, closed on Sunday.
